Dr. Aaron D. Johnson

Bismarck, ND native Dr. Aaron Johnson learned the value of good dental care in a very personal way. A week before starting college, Dr. Johnson was riding his bicycle home from work when he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision.

He received a fractured jaw and multiple broken teeth from the incident, which occurred just days after he had his braces removed. Dr. Johnson spent his first six months of college on a liquid diet. From the experience, he gained a deep appreciation for how important teeth are to our daily lives. He was grateful to the dentist who helped him, and Dr. Johnson wanted to provide that same kind of care to others.

He received a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University, where he majored in chemical engineering. Then, Dr. Johnson went on to graduate from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He furthered his education in aesthetic dentistry at the University of Minnesota and in cosmetic dentistry at the Pankey Institute.

He returned to his hometown and opened a practice, where he continued a family legacy as a fifth-generation small business owner. In 2009, he was named one of the top dentists in America by the Consumer Research Council. He also received the “Best of Bismarck” award in the Dentist Office category in 2009 and 2010.

Today, Dr. Johnson is an active member of the Bismarck-Mandan community. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking and other outdoors activities, computers, and technology.
